Websites for Promotional Direct Mail and Christmas Marketing are always a “work in progress”

The development of our websites is a fairly continuous process. Having re-launched our Pop-up Mailers site as recently as mid-March, we followed with a re-vamp of Whitney Woods.co.uk in May and we are about to go live any day now with our new-look export site, Whitney Woods.com. Whilst the sites contain new products, new features, new ideas and new suggestions which demand inclusion to keep our visitors interested, there are always functional improvements which may be made – to aid navigation, for example.

However, websites are also subject to fashion changes and from a visual point of view it is important that the site looks like it belongs to today and doesn’t look jaded and tired. With all these points in mind, we are constantly working on improvements and some of our older sites are currently under review. Kate at Kreate Graphics is close to finalising the new look for our Mail by Hand site whilst we are busily planning the re-write of Christmas Marketing and looking at new items to include for this years Christmas and New Year promotions. Mail by Hand should re-launch in July and Christmas Marketing is due to go online in August.

With each project comes the discovery of areas of weakness and this usually means wholesale changes to old SEO work but looking at the improved visitor stats on Google Analytics makes it all worthwhile and I find the whole business of online to be interesting and fascinating.

The figures for the first 3 months of the Pop-Up Mailers have shown that the re-launch has been a very worthwhile effort and though it is too early to draw a conclusion, the first signs for whitneywoods.com are very encouraging.

Next up in autumn will be New Promotional Ideas, to be followed by our Hand-Finishing site and then in the New Year 2011 we can start all over again. It looks like we’ve got our very own Forth Bridge!
