Marketing Ideas abound for Pop-up Cards and Pocket Media products
I wrote earlier about how interesting my job is at Whitney Woods thanks to the diversification of our promotional products and the level of creativity and originality of our clients’ ideas. I would like to continue this little discussion by focusing on two areas which each feature some really good marketing ideas along with a few oddities – Pop-up Cards and Pocket Media.
I always feel that pop-up cards should be much more popular than they are particularly as they are kind of half-way place between the familiar format of a leaflet or booklet and a fully-fledged pop-up product. It seems to me like it should be a safe haven for those marketers who want to do something more than a leaflet but they feel that a pop-up cube might be too “in yer face”. Having said that, however, we have been commissioned to make some crackers – particularly where a big V-fold has been used to good effect. Parallelogram stand-ups tend to be less dramatic but are nonetheless a big step up from a boring leaflet.
Pocket media is another area which sometimes leaves me puzzled. A product like our Foldilocks Card is a case in point. I think that it is a perfect choice as a rewards card. It is ideal for special offer vouchers and as it can hold up to 10 cards it seems perfect to me for extended offers. Our Mini Starburst and Tripleburst are other instances where our clients seem to miss a trick. Both products seem to be perfect for exhibition publicity but to date, neither product has not been chosen for this use. On the other hand, we have been commissioned to make umpteen different swatch cards for uses that had never occurred to me.
All in all, it’s a fascinating market and I’m pleased to say that every week brings something new.
