Drinks Marketing Ideas – Promotional Bottle Collars Added to Advertising Products Range

Our promotional product range is full of die-cut products and examples of pocket media so a logical move would be into the business of producing promotional bottle collars – a product which can combine both areas of expertise.

 Promotional bottle collars come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. A very simple example would be like those featured in the picture below which are simply custom designed, die-cut and creased pieces with a hole to slip the collar over the neck of the bottle. The examples in the picture are actually printed on folding box board and have a gloss laminate finish but there are many other materials that can be used, too.

 Sometimes, different folding methods will be used to incorporate a little booklet or the bottle collar could incorporate a simple 4-page section for extra text. Shaped bottle collars are also an easy option – they could be shaped like a lemon, for example, or slices of lemon and lime or cut to shape to look like ice cubes. There is really no limit to the shapes that could be produced.

 Bottle collars are also produced in shapes like cones or sloping square tower so that they can slip over the long necks of wine bottles. This type of bottle collar would probably be produced on, say, 250gsm art board, and be supplied with the side seam glued and the product stacked in towers or folded flat.

 Four-page tags are another popular choice as a bottle collar, incorporating a loop of metallic string which would be slipped over the bottle neck. This would ordinarily be done by a company with automated stringing facilities so that they could handle runs of hundreds of thousands. Unfortunately, as we do all of our stringing by hand, we would be cost effective only for smaller orders for this type of bottle collar.

 Recently we have been quoting on an intricate bottle collar which incorporates a credit card sized example of popular folding pocket – sized media – a starburst. This is the first time that we have come across this concept for a bottle collar but why not? It is more likely that the bottle collar will perform its function – to get the promotional message across to the drinks customer – if a higher level of creativity and innovation is applied to its design.
