Online Marketing and Relationship Marketing – We just try harder

Drinks marketingFingers crossed , touch wood and all that, it looks as though we are coming out of recession. Like millions of other businesses, it hasn’t been easy for our company but I do feel that the recession has reminded us of some old lessons that we maybe let slip in the pre-recession times. W7D5RYGUPKF7 Certainly we had to tighten our belts and take a close look at how the business was run; staffing levels, unnecessary purchases; running costs and so on but whilst all this is very important to running a “tight ship” we also took the decision to widen our net and expand the business.

We now export to countries throughout the world, a move that has brought extra business at a time when it was most needed. We have invested in and launched new websites to widen our search for new business. This expansion of our online marketing efforts has taken the usual slog of having to write page after page of product information, taking hundreds of photos and videos and so on but you don’t get anything out of online marketing if you don’t put in the effort – so we just try harder.

However, we haven’t confined our efforts to finding new business. It is vitally important that we look after and nurture the business that we have already won and we have stepped up our efforts on customer relationship marketing. I know some people in business who talk as if they know it all. Good luck to them. I am happy to admit that I don’t know it all and I learn much from reading up on subjects such as Relationship Marketing and Guerrilla Marketing. Much of what I have picked up is being adopted as a new code of practice – good habits that benefit our customers as much as they benefit our business. Once again – we simply try harder.

One unexpected spin-off from reading up on different aspects of marketing was to reach the awareness that some of our own products are perfect for guerrilla marketing, experiential marketing and relationship marketing and we have included sections covering these areas on our redesigned PopupMailers website. Items such as our Foldilocks card, promotional bottle collars and pen holders are showcased in an ongoing effort to bring our products to those who need to know about them.
