Choose a Pop-up Card with a difference for B2B Direct Marketing
There are many kinds of pop-up card and you will find that most of them have at their heart one of two basic mechanisms – a V-Fold or a Parallelogram stand-up device. Whilst both mechanisms offer a good display and a very effective pop-up centrefold, it is not in every case that the movement suits the marketing message. Sometimes the message might call for some mystery, asking a question such as “What secrets lie behind the closed door?” or “What treasure lies within the box?”
A typical and very simple example of such a theme would be an advent calendar but when your aim is also to capture your customer’s imagination, the movement needs to have a little more to it than simply opening a door. We have just the thing and we call it a “Brain Aid Card” for no other reason than “Brain Aid” being the theme of the campaign on the first print of the product.
This type of promotional pop-up card features a “trap door” device which, on opening, gives the impression that a lot more comes out from behind the door than you might expect. The door can be positioned on the front of the pop up card or on page 3 as it is in the picture. We can make custom sizes of this style of promotional pop up cards to suit your promotion.
The card has also been produced as size 210 x 210mm with a bigger trap door. Also, the bottom of the window frame was shaped like long grass to enhance the effect. The graphic that was revealed when the trap door opened was a wild jungle animal. Unfortunately, we ran out of this very impressive card before we had time to take photographs. However, the combination of imaginative use of die-cutting and colourful graphics certainly enhances the effect of the trapdoor.
Within this pop-up card the trap door opens to reveal more than you might expect to see so this could be ideal for a marketing idea requiring the element of surprise or an increase in size. There is also more movement than you would imagine which makes you want to open the door a few times which makes it a very tactile pop-up mailer. Another creative marketing idea for the Bain aid pop up card is that the trap door could be designed as a box lid or even a treasure chest lid.
