New Bottle Media gives Bottle Promotions some Balls
I have a thing about in-store promotions, marketing and advertising. Sometimes I can be quite impressed by the efforts of certain companies and think “Wow, that’s a really clever marketing idea”. At other times, I think “What a waste of an opportunity”. One little niche area of in-store marketing always seemed to leave me unimpressed and that was the area of bottle promotions. You know – those tags and cards that hang on the bottles or that are wrapped around bottlenecks.
If you look at on-bottle promotions when you walk down the wines and spirits aisle in your local supermarket then you will be aware of the fact that whilst bottle tags, bottle hangers and bottle collars are easily visible, it is rare for any of them to really jump out at you and grab your attention. It’s not so much that the offer or the graphic design is not up to much, it is usually the fact that you’ve seen it all before. With that in mind, I believe that is ultra-important that advertisers should choose something new in bottle media in order to get their promotions noticed.
Nowadays, there is such a large variety of drinks on display in the supermarkets that you will find people studying long and hard before making a choice. As their eyes scan the shelves there will be one or two bottles that catch their eye. Maybe it is the overall look of the bottle, shape, the label design, the colour combination of label and bottle top. Whatever it is, that is what advertisers have to compete with when choosing bottle media to carry a promotion – well, that and other promotions on the shelf.
Advertisers need to go with a bottle display that is big, bold and unmissable and now it seems that advertisers finally have the chance to do exactly that. We have introduced a new bottle collar that is big on display whilst also being very versatile – and it’s got balls! The trick to the product’s display is in the interlocking mechanism, which we have designed in such a way that it provides two large circular areas for promotional print in addition to the bottle collar. This is very different to most traditional bottle collars that usually offer just a couple of inches around the bottleneck for display.
Another plus point to the design is that the interlocking device on the Bottle Balls not only delivers increased display it also offers greater versatility and it can be used on plastic bottles with spray handles and also on the carry handles of big, bulky plastic containers.
